I’m from France and i’ve an opportunity to get an original SC2 v 1.05 for the cost of 1000€ (1200$) but black handles on the front panel were removed, i like the big sound of this unit and i’m also attached to the look of the compressor…
Where can I find these handles ? If it’s possible…And do you think it’s a good deal ?

You ask if ‘it’s a good deal’, that’s a very difficult question. The original SC2 V1.05 dates back to 1995 and so the condition has to be questioned; has it been kept in a reasonably dry environment? If it has been in a studio all the time then there’s no reason why it should not work as good as new.
I cannot comment on price; I know that some of these compressors are selling for around £1000.
I have the very first original SC2 which I built myself in 1984. It’s the one that I sprayed with the lurid green car celulose…. that now everyone actually likes! Perhaps someone will make me an offer for it one day.
If i buy this used SC2 without handles, i think i’m going to search these ones and i’ll inform about a good solution of replacement in this topic. I have to verify if it fits in my flight case first !
