Hi, we have an old Alice 2008 mixer on the bench which has a blown toroidal mains transformer. Sadly there are no secondary voltage and current markings on the label, and so far we cannot find any information on the net for it.

Would Ted (or anyone else) know what these transformers are rated at, and if replacements can be sourced? If not, would it be possible to run the mixer from just an external dc power supply, via the +12v, Ov, -12V sockets?

Any help would be much appreciated!

The mains transformer would have been a straightforward 15-0-15 with a power rating of 30VA to 60VA.

You could operate the mixer from the external supply points but then the phantom power would not work.

Suitable transformers are available from CPC; a possible one is MCTA060/15.

That’s great, thank you for the prompt reply and detailed information.

Our customer loves Alice mixers, and will be very pleased that it can be brought back into service in his studio!
