Hi Ted, Yves here who bought your P10 prototype last year. Wonderful unit that is often used on my recordings!

I’d like to know if you could give me some information about the dual mic-pre VC7.

As I already have an original ‘The Brick’ VC1 I’ve found a VC7 I’d like to know if it has a similar sounding preamp.

Hope things are well at TFPro.

    Best regards

    Yves

    Hi Yves,

I’ve been away from the forum for a couple of days and I’m trying to catch up……

The VC7 was probably the most sophisticated mic amp we ever made….. it was always my favourite.

Yes, it does sound and behave in a very similar way to the early ‘bricks’. It is a class A discrete mic amp coupled from the mic by a quality transformer and with different transformer ‘taps’ so that the microphone can be properly matched.

If you have found one I recommend that you grab it! :)

Thank you for your reply Ted. Much appreciated!

The VC7 is on his way, hopefully should be here before the end of this week!

So, yes I thought it would be good to add this dual preamp next to the P10. 8-)

Will test it asap and comeback here for a chat and get some feedback :)

    Best regards

    Yves
