SC3 ticking sound

Hi Ted,

I have a SC3 which has been serving me well (nice to have Transient control and the Digital I/O) but recently developed a soft “ticking” sound that seems to be most prominent when there’s a loud bit (it doesn’t appear during the silences and soft bits). It’s not clipping, and I tried various gain settings to no avail.

Is it possibly an artifact of the optical compressor LED? Is there any calibration that might have wavered that could simply be adjusted? Or is it likely something else? I could probably email a MP3 example if need be.

I’m situated in Australia, otherwise I would just send it over, but it’s a bit more of a flight.

That’s a unique problem…. never heard of that one.

If it’s an irregular ticking it’s probably problem in the converters. Yes it would be a good idea to email me a short mp3. send it to [email protected]
