Hi Ted. I’ve recently aquired an Itam mixing desk. Someone told me that the ‘a’ in itam stands for Alice. Is there any truth behind this?

I can’t find any info on itam desks. Can you shine any light on this for me please. Thanks.

No that’s definitely not true! Itam was a company first set up by Barry Lambden in Eton near Windsor. They used to import and distribute Revox tape machines and eventually turned into ‘Studiospares’.

We were in Windsor and were friendly with Barry. I designed a small mixer specifically for them to market as a ‘badged’ product.

I’m ashamed to say that I don’t really remember much about the details of the mixer except that it was a variation on the Alice AD62 (which pre-dated the 828).

I don’t have any circuit details, but as I recall it was a very simple ‘class A’ design and so probably still sounds good. :)

Do email or post here a picture of the Itam mixer.
